"We are eagerly looking forward to our League’s Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament in Sioux Falls in 2008 and 2009. We choose Sioux Falls for a number of reasons but foremost was the commitment of the Sioux Falls Sports Authority’s to produce a quality first class event.
"The support of the community and everyone associated with the event overwhelmed us on our site visit. They have everything in Sioux Falls which we were looking for in a host, great hotels, plenty of restaurants, nice arena, corporate support, professional staff at the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Volunteer support, media coverage and a genuine
interest in Division 1 Men’s and women’s basketball in the area."

"Sioux Falls was a very popular choice for our NSIC “Hoopsfest” for many reasons. My coaching days go back to the NCC Holiday Tournament, so it was easy for me to point out the many successes that tournament had. Sioux Falls and Augustana have a tremendous fan base for DII basketball and this “Hoopsfest” gives the NSIC an opportunity to showcase the high quality of competition in the league. (Winona State winning the DII National Title in 2006 and being the National Runner-up in 2007, etc.)
We needed to have two quality facilities to play a total of eight games (men and women) at each site over a two day period. With seven men’s and women’ teams coming to town, along with many fans, housing and meals were a large priority and Sioux Falls is a city that can meet our needs. Finally, as we looked at other options, the Sioux Falls Sports Authority’s willingness to partner with us to make this a first-class event was too good to pass up. We have been very impressed with the cooperation of everyone working together to help us make this a fun experience for our student-athletes, and a successful regional event."
